Honk, honk! I’d like to introduce myself, I’m VAN 001 aka Fran the Care-a-van. I’m 15 years old and have traveled all over the U.S. tallying up well over 318,000 miles! Looking back I realize I’ve learned a lot, done a lot, been a lota’ places, so let’s shift it in reverse and I’ll share my story with you.
As I remember, in my early years I was a sublime set of wheels a family used to cruise around town. When I turned 4 someone came to our place and I overheard him talking to my owner, he was using words I had never heard before, words like missionaries, furlough, and overseas. “What’s this conversation all about?” I wondered, then I overheard my owner say “SOLD!”, and I realized I was headed to a new place. Everything in me wanted to scream, “NO, I’m happy right where I am!” but something inside told me everything was going to be ok. “Fran” I told myself, “just settle your little-self down!” Little did I know that I’d be on an adventure that would last a lifetime.
