What is unique about your hub?

There are several things that make our hub unique. We are the first and oldest hub outside of headquarters in Missouri. We began operating with one van in 2006. We are called the DFW Hub. However, we are actually located 2 ½ hours east of Dallas in Longview (the northeast corner of Texas). Because one of the missions of Righteous Rides is caring for missionaries, we uniquely care for a missionary by bringing their van to them and picking it up when they return it, thereby taking the stress out of getting to Longview for their release and return. We like to call ourselves the “Texas Hub” since we serve not just the 2 Dallas airports, but also George Bush Intercontinental, and Shreveport Regional Airport. We have met Ms in many unique places…The Colony, Prosper, Buffalo, Spring, Waxahachie, Hugo OK, Shepherd OK, Buccee’s, Cracker Barrell, Summit Racing, hotels, churches, and many homes.
Our team includes a dozen volunteers who help with releases and returns, putting together goodie bags, helping with body work when needed, and regular maintenance jobs. Recently, a group of our volunteers pooled their resources and began RR Racing, a go-cart team, which helps promote Righteous Rides in Longview.

How could a volunteer help at your hub?

We are always looking for people to help with releases and returns…those who are comfortable driving in the sometimes challenging Dallas traffic, and who can help on weekdays when many of our regular volunteers are at work. Sylvia plans “goodie bag parties” during our busy seasons (early spring, summer, and late fall). We always need help putting together as many as 15-20 kids’ and family bags at these parties.

What are your prayer requests?

Pray for opportunities to raise funds for our hub’s travel expenses, so we can continue to care for our Ms by delivering and picking up their vans. Pray that the carting events we attend will promote RR in a God-honoring manner and that individuals will learn about RR and be encouraged to be part of the greater RR support team. Pray for protection on the road as we travel to releases and returns.
