I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.
Phil. 1:12 HCSV

Even when families are serving the Lord on the mission field, they are not exempt from nightmares turning into reality. What an inspiration when we see brothers and sisters cope with tragedies, in much the way the Apostle Paul did. Even when the outcome cannot be seen until years into the future, they trust in a sovereign God and that he is working everything for his glory.

Notes from Logbook – September 24 – November 1, 2012

9/24 – “Our son, D*, had a stroke and seizure tonight. Feeling lost, turning over to God.”

9/30 – “Had to cancel meeting to E. Baptist.”

10/10-14 – “Wonderful mission conference – attending alone due to D’s recovery.”

11/1 – “Returning van today early. Having to change schedule due to D’s recovery therapy from stroke.”

PRAYER: Jehovah-Rapha, you are the God who heals. It has been years since this event took place and we hope that in your mercy it was your will this precious son be restored to health. Thank you for missionaries who lean on you and continue serving, even when life brings troubles. And, for those who feel like they are drowning, draw close to them and touch them in a new way. In the end, we thank you, Lord, that you are in control of everything. Amen.
